The London Boat Show, which was due to take place in January 2019, has been cancelled. The show organisers, British Marine, have said that the show did not receive enough support from the marine industry to make it feasible. They said that they carried out research with the people due to exhibit, and they were unhappy with the timescales of the show. This meant they were less likely to commit to exhibiting and making it a success.
This discontent came from the fact that the boat show had been changed from a 10 day to a 5 day show. Many exhibitors felt that this wouldn’t be worth their while.
The organisers of the London Boat Show have said that they will now be seeking new opportunities, as they are aware the event was viewed as a good way to start the year by boat retailers and boatbuilders. They talked about the Southampton Boat Show as an example, as this has received great commercial success.
